Description
- Swiss-Prot No.:
- Swiss-Prot:Q8NEY3
Gene ID:132851
- Form of Antibody:
- Supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
- Storage:
- Can be stored at -20˚C, stable for one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
- Immunogen:
- Raised against an 18 amino acid peptide near the carboxy terminus of human SPATA4.
- other_names:
- Spermatogenesis associated protein 4, testis and spermatogenesis cell apoptosis related gene 2, TSARG2, SPEF1B
- Purification:
- Affinity chromatography purified via peptide column
- Specificity:
- At least two isoforms of SPATA4 are known to exist; this antibody will detect both isoforms. SPATA4 antibody is predicted to not cross-react with SPATA protein family members
- Background:
- The spermatogenesis associated protein 4 (SPATA4) protein, also known as TSARG1, is highly expressed in testis, and to a much lower extent in other tissues. SPATA4 contains a highly conserved DUF1042 domain, but no significant homology with any other known protein. SPATA4 is thought to play an important role in the development of cryptorchid testis and is a testis-specific apoptosis candidate oncogene.
