Description
- Swiss-Prot No.:
- Swiss-Prot:Q8NHX4
Gene ID:130560
- Form of Antibody:
- Supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
- Storage:
- Can be stored at -20˚C, stable for one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
- Immunogen:
- Raised against a 17 amino acid peptide near the carboxy terminus of human SPATA3.
- other_names:
- Spermatogenesis associated protein 3, testis and spermatogenesis cell apoptosis related gene 1, TSARG1
- Purification:
- Affinity chromatography purified via peptide column
- Specificity:
- At least three isoforms of SPATA3 are known to exist; this antibody will detect only the longest two isoforms. SPATA3 antibody is predicted to not cross-react with SPATA protein family members
- Background:
- The testis and spermatogenesis cell apoptosis related gene 1 (TSARG1) protein, also known as SPATA3, is highly expressed in testis, and to a lower extent in other tissues. SPATA3 contains a highly conserved J domain, which is present in all DnaJ-like proteins, and is thus a novel member of the HSP40 protein family. SPATA3 is thought to be involved in apoptosis of spermatogenic cells.
