Swiss-Prot No:

Swiss-Prot: P16949
NCBI Protein: NP_001138926.1

Form of Antibody:

Supplied at 1.0mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Storage/Stability:

Immunogen:

Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of serine 16 (R-A-S(p)-G-Q) derived from Human Stathmin 1.

Purification:

Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. Non-phospho specific antibodies were removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide.

Specificity/Sensitivity:

The antibody detects endogenous level of Stathmin 1 only when phosphorylated at serine 16.

Applications:

WB IHC

Background:

Involved in the regulation of the microtubule (MT) filament system by destabilizing microtubules. Prevents assembly and promotes disassembly of microtubules. Phosphorylation at Ser-16 may be required for axon formation during neurogenesis. Involved in the control of the learned and innate fear
